I don’t have an issue getting feathers, what I’m saying is the process itself is boring and difficult to setup so I personally am not interested in gathering more feathers than I need for myself and most any other player who gathers them feels the same way and thus there is no feather trade for players who either do not have access to fertilized eggs or chickens or lack the necessary base requirements.

It’s a fairly basic principle, if there are too many tedious activities (flint cost in repairing, feather gathering/wool shearing, animal breeding, etc.) players will tend towards limiting their exposure to those activities as much as possible.

I made a thread awhile ago on my thoughts regarding assassin, it’s also the thread that caused the admin to switch Chaos from hunting to assassin exp. It can be found here.

Despite my feelings regarding duel statues however it hasn’t stopped me from using them, I would be foolish not to take advantage of such an easy and safe way to gain assassin levels. I got four blue stars in it quite easily and I only stopped reincarnating assassin skill to do other skills not because I got bored of it.

The questing tutorials do cover the basics of the game but you aren’t really able to begin attempting most of the tutorial quests without first leaving Newbie Village (ie. bulding walls, smelting and anything else that requires you to leave newbie village to do).

The game is fairly lacking in areas for new players to learn and level after they leave (or are forced out of) Newbie Village and quite frankly most new players simply aren’t ready to face the challenges that come with escaping from the PKers around market and other areas while still trying to learn the game and build a secure home to safely store their items.

Snake pit is great for a few levels but becomes useless to a new player quickly, the only benefit that it provides is that it’s a safe zone. I would argue snake pit becomes more useful later on to advanced players who are wearing myst gear to improve their myst gain bonus and want a safe place to gather myst or want to raise their shield block skill. Battlegrounds Cemetery is not really a newbie area as it’s more for intermediate players (especially with that ghost trolling around) and is usually patrolled by PKers anyways making it a very unsafe place for new players to level. South Sands is alright with some snakes and flame demons for lower level players to fight but a bow might be required for the flame demons. Finally, snowtop peaks is probably the most ideal place for a new player to train now by making use of the polar bear spawns. The point being while these areas all can be nice for players who are somewhat more advanced, they are not so great for teaching and retaining new players.

I left mentioning the underworld for last because in my opinion this COULD be the most ideal place for new players to level if the early floors actually had any mobs on them aside from the rogue skeleton that most new players can’t handle and if they weren’t covered entirely in water.

Something interesting to note is that around the time Fleet began playing UST is when the EU server started to improve and thrive. They are all pretty terrible players in terms of the ways they “enjoy” the game such as BadBoy and Krill creating numerous alts to use against towers and as infamy bait, abuses like these that ruin the game for other players without giving them a fair chance to retaliate should not be tolerated or at the very least the admin should address them ASAP.

They hardly destroyed the texas server but they were certainly one of the biggest contributors towards its loss of some of the players both new and old.

I feel that heavy armor users shouldn’t ever be able to reach capped movement speed without the use of a speed buff dish since this not only detracts from the viability of light armor but medium armor as well. In my opinion the current state of armor makes the choice fairly easy for every player already, with low exploration you use light armor and with high exploration you use heavy at which point light armor is left behind and medium armor is never used at all.

Sorry to hi-jack the thread a bit with some armor discussion too but these things are all related anyways.

Higher woodcutting also increases the chance to yield a pinecone.

It’s peace enforced by force though. So no, that’s not peace. It’s a dictatorship.

lmao, so what? Peace through strength, if you don’t like it then challenge the status quo or play a different server but I can guarantee every server has a group of players on top that can and will dictate certain things should they choose to.

For a game that you should have went in to knowing full well that it has both PvP and looting you should have realized the possibility of what could happen to your items if you are not careful. Perhaps some of you guys are better suited for Farmville if you have to retreat to other servers in hopes of being protected simply out of the good will of the top players.

On UST I’m selling A3 and R3 rings along with other runed rings for extremely cheap prices such as 50 flint as well as random assortments of other cheap gear and equipment and items and gold and silver. Many players have books to sell for cheap prices and the high end runed gear that gets sold is honestly the cheapest I have seen on any server. Go to USE and see how much they sell 5 runed gear for.

Most of you would have it so easy on this server if you put in a bit of effort in your base defense or actually bothered to put locks on the valuable items in your market house. Read the guide because all you had to do was drop 5 gold and 5 of your best things and lock it and the stack would have been protected from everyone for up to 3 days. For a base in Galebrook you have so many options at your disposal in terms of defense, multiple layers of stone walls, towers, scale upgrades on structures, locks padded with gold, traps, dogs and of course the most important raising your construction skill all contribute to creating a solid defense for your base. Raising construction and rebuilding old walls that have lower hp is just as important as having towers.

The cheating had no real effect on a large majority of the players, players get murdered on every server and to me “ruins in galebrook” just sounds like plenty of land freeing up for players to build which doesn’t sound like a bad thing to me considering lack of space is a main complaint in other more developed servers.

I agree with the tower issue it’s a fair point but the only other solution I thought of besides giving some general coordinates/location (ie. fishing spot finder) would be to list the gear located at <unknown> when the player logs out somewhere not in a bed but that would defeat the purpose of the system.

I think the points regarding alts are reasonable but it’s more of an issue with general alt abuse in my opinion considering any player can store all of their valuable items on an alt and log out with it at any time.

Besides the obvious pvp implications I still think this would be a very nice quality of life feature in terms of keeping track of gear upon death or within a tribe.

Players don’t really need an excuse to raid, newbies get raided just because they have gold or something sitting inside their wood walls. Anyways if there’s something you think would be abusable then please elaborate and we can try to come up with a resolution but what you might see as abuse I most likely see as intentional side effects of such a system.

It is a sandbox game after all so if the scenario you described does happen to occur then it’s the choice of the player to raid that house or wait and ask if they are willing to return the item though either way I think the system would have served its purpose if the original gear owner ends up with their gear back regardless of the means to obtain it.

This resolved itself but I swear the recipe was missing even though I had everything and I was only confirming it for another player who was experiencing the same thing. It happened recently after your server restart on UST.

I’ve had a tribe gate disappear on me three times in a row now, one time I caught it when it was really low at 20% but it ended up decaying again shortly anyways.
