Valiant I think it’s the fact that even as a new player, I share the old player’s point of view. It’s more about the type of player I think. But idk I can’t read minds.
Above post explains the downhill slope removing pvp could make the game head towards. (unrealistically but technically possible under the same reasoning for removing pvp)
Honesty, yeah I know a few of the posters but before now I really ain’t communicated with most of them much.
I can guarantee one of em would kill me if he seent me, but I agree with him anyway.
Okay fun time. Woooooo I LOVE FUN TIME!! Prepare for endless sarcasm and baby talk, but 100% complete legitimacy due to word twisting 😉
This update was just a bandaid on a boo-boo cuz lil Tommy got a wittle scratch playing in the schoolyard and he falled down and lost/gots an ouchie twying to score a point and now e’rrybody has to let Tommy win to make him feel better.
But now the kids playing with Tommy are pissed cuz they can’t plays no more. Well not for reals anyway cuz when they play Tommy always runs and cries to teacher cuz he no can has fun not always winning and scoring and being as good as all dem big kids. Yeah it’s nice and makes Tommy feel good to play wif the other kiddies, but as long as Tommy is playing nobody can REALLY actually play. Cuz ya know.. Tommy can’t handle losing and teacher now said we gotta let him win. THANKS TOMMY UR SO AWESOME
Ooo now here comes Bob, but Bob isn’t like Tommy all he wants to do is take the ball and throw it on the roof. But.. because Tommy originally went and cried to teacher, Bob can now get away with throwing said ball on roof cuz it’s how he wanted to “play the game”. Cuz teacher said e’rrybody gets to play how they want.
What happens now?
No nobody gets to play, and the only one having fun is Bob because all he really wanted to do is take the ball away from everybody else. Now all of Bob’s friends see they can take e’rryboody’s ball and throw in on the roof at all the other schoolyards.
So wut do they do?
Bob and all his friends are gonna throw dem balls on the roof and instead of playing kickball cuz yaknow, CAN’T PLAY THAT NO MOAR THANKS TOMMY FOR MAKING IT FAIR
E’rrybody is gonna go play tag instead.
If ya don’t get who is who in the story… Tommy is the whiners, Bob and all his friends are the trolls, and tag is reference to a different game.
Oooooo ooo ooo wait I has an idea! I wanna protest building.
Several legit reasons why:
It’s not fair someone has more land than me.
It’s not fair they have better buildings than me.
It’s not fair they have a better location than me.
It’s not fair they have many people working on one base and I can’t destroy it solo.
Teacherrrrrrr! Take away building pls it’s not fair. Thanks Tommy for the idea! 😀
Wait, gotta take farming away too. Cuz It’s not fair his crops all live and half of mine die. Bye farming, thanks Tommy <3
Oh mining too. It’s not fair he can mine my rocks as I’m mining them faster than me. Woooo thanks Tommy for making it fair! #tommyforpresident
Oh wait next ish chopping. It’s not fair he can chop trees down faster than me. LOL.. yaaaaaay Tommy! #powertothelilguise
-insert SpongeBob one hour later reference-
Aaaaaaaand there goes smelting, cuz it’s not fair he always gets more ores than me.
THANK YOU TOMMY!!! Now I can get uh.. like.. wait. Hmm now there are no skills left, no buildings.. just.. yeah. At least I got muh fairness!
This is what I want, cuz yaknow everybody has to play fair. Complete fairness pls no cherry-pickin.
Skills make the game unfair because someone can be better than you in a vidya game without actually being better.
You get my point yet?
This obvious sarcastic suggestion actually isn’t all that unrealistic if you use the same excuses anti-pvp players are using btw. If it’s unfair getting killed by other players, well it’s just as unfair for literally everything else in the entire game.
Explain the difference pls besides death cuz then you’d have to go after mobs next cuz they kill ppls too LOL
Gottalovetwistingwordsitssomuchfun.
If we really try guise.. like fo REALS yo we can make it happen. They are taking pvp away slowly cuz it’s unfair, next we can go after buildings and skillz and mobs and it’ll just be one big all circle je- uhhh… one big happy community with peace and loves all around cuz everything ish fair ^.^ <3
Yeah it got way longer than I had originally intended but meh, ish why I added the tl;dr there at the end 😉
No, I’d personally rather use my current method that I’ve practiced cuz it doesn’t hinder me anymore. If I do drop an item I simply walk the mob out of my way then go pick it back up.
Taking away drag to drop would be more detrimental imo. It’d make several of my tasks literally take twice as long. When you grind something for 4 hours turning it into 8 hours does not sound better.
Mobs are stupid anyway, if you drop something walk them away from it then run over to pick it back up.
Better yet you can also pre-tap the potions whilst standing still so then all ya gotta do is tap “use” in the bottom right without ever having to tap the potion in your inventory btw. You won’t drop it then.
This’ll be my last post on this thread cuz it’s just gonna go in circles, you can’t convince me to agree to take away a feature I use / enjoy because of a faulty issue that I’ve personally learned / practiced how to circumvent.
I’ve already said it but I’ll say it again : I’ll agree the issue is annoying / should be fixed, but not at the expense of removing drag to drop. I’d rather keep it.
I’ll agree it’s annoying to have to alternate taps to move / use items / switch gear in combat and it should be fixed but removing drag-to-drop is not the solution imo.
With practice the above method can let you switch gears / use items and move in combat almost flawlessly. Sure I mess up sometimes and drop something here and there, but at this point I can tell the instant I tap something whether or not it’s gonna drop.
This turned into a wall, so obligatory tl;dr version at bottom.
I’m a new player, I ain’t really into PvP, but I’m gonna agree with Kaz.
There are MANY games out there that are similar to this one that are entirely PvE.
I’ve played several of them, and there are many, many, MANY times whilst playing one of those I wished I could just kill the person stealing mah kills, resources or just outright trolling but I couldn’t. Heck in newbie village day ONE I wished I coulda killed people that kept stealing mah food on the fire. Instead of crying I walked til I found a spot I could build a fire where only one person could access it faaaaar away from e’rrybody else.
I haven’t played long (around a month and a halfish? little more or less maybe but not much) and nowhere near a top player, but dying and losing stuff is just part of the game. Heck I wasn’t sure I was gonna play this game or go back to an old one because I was getting nagged (plus I thought I was offending people and was gonna get KoS anyway) so I completely leveled / gave away everything I had worked for several weeks to acquire. Sure it wasn’t much in the grand scheme of things, but to me it was EVERYTHING I had worked for.
I came back relatively quickly (remembered why I left old game in the first place lol) and instead of begging for halp/free stuff I took my compass, 5 clay, and wooden spear and just rebuilt by myself.
Okay I take that back; someone DID give me like 10 tinder to make a fire cuz I couldn’t find any bushes after looking for nearly an hour starving. Anyways..
My first base that took almost a month to build paled in comparison to the one I built within 2 weeks after coming back. Point of the story? Any item/base lost can be re-obtained/built.
As for lost levels? So what. Think of it like starting a new character over in a game cuz you got bored at being a super op gawd that can wink at the end game bosses and they just explode instantly if it makes you feel better.
Yeah it sucks to die. It sucks to lose items and experience and all that but even though I personally don’t PvP, doesn’t mean it should denied from others in a game that has OPEN PVP.
Think about it like this, what if this was the reverse? Instead of making everything safe and friendly, all non-combat skills and activities were removed and everything made a PvP zone with the only way to acquire gear being chests in uw. The same thing would be happening, just a different group of players would be outraged / quitting etc and the excuses then would be “You’re just making it another PvP/dungeon crawler game” instead of another “farmville”
People are naive to think that if there’s any sort of PvP that players won’t take advantage of being more powerful than others. If some lil punk was mouthing off to me and I had the ability to kill them over and over and over you can bet your ass I’d be doing it. However on the same note it’s also Naive to think that the dev won’t do something if a small group of experienced players constantly run off potential new sources of income. I know that’s contradictory to my opinion, but I for one always try to look at both sides.
That being said, I still gotta go with the pro-pvp side even though I’m literally one of those small feesh that would have to run and hide when/if there’s a kos rampage going on. And guess what? I do, without whining. Why? Cuz it’s uhhh… the game? Idk.. I don’t take it seriously enough maybe? I mean.. it’s all just pixels in the end.
And no, I’m not finger pointing or anything like that, just merely stating how idiotic it is to either piss off high-level players in a PvP game then whine and cry about it afterwards (most of what I see) or expect people stronger than you in a PvP game not to kill you.
That’d be like playing your typical FPS but whining to the devs when someone kills you cuz they’re better at aiming than you. Lolwut
I get more pissed about dying from lag than I would another player, cuz at least from a player its just part of the game rather than a stupid-bs-dropping-into-a-hole-filled-with-mobs-that-lags-you-into-an-instant-flustercluck-from-all-directions death.
Someone has you KoS not letting you leave crossroads? Just log for a while to watch a movie or show. Most likely they won’t stand there for several hours straight.
If you ARE constantly hunted by e’rrybody just switch servers. There’s a bunch of em with most likely more in the future.
Don’t like the PvP aspect? Play a different game. There are MILLIONS of games out there to play. Personally I hate most FPS because anymore it’s down to who-sees-who first, doesn’t mean I went crying to the devs to go change those games, I just simply don’t play them.
If I became KoS down to level 1 and basically kicked off a server I wouldn’t get mad or cry on the forums, there are other servers or better yet: other games to play.
I know that any moment, everything I’ve worked for; levels, base, resources etc can be wiped out of existence. No amount of towers or walls can withstand a prolonged constant attack no matter how well set up it is. Hate to keep saying the same thing over and over, but it’s naive to think otherwise and honestly I consider it a good thing.
tl;dr version Players knew what they were signing up for when they started playing the game. New players are (usually) good, but not at the expense of changing the core of a game.
Cooking, smelting, dropping a large amount of unstackables, when I’m uw, when I’m mining, heck I drag to drop my items to repair them. Almost e’rrythang I do involves me using drag-to-drop cuz I utilize it effectively.

Cashew.
As a mobile-user I’d actually disagree. I love the drag-to-drop feature. I use it all the time, as well as constantly switching gears in uw depending on what I’m fighting without dropping anything.
Just gotta play around to figure out how to move and switch gears on mobile without dropping items.

Idk if it’s been said before, but to me a new command /build to toggle on/off our ability to damage our own walls would be better.
Also add the ability to turn on/off towers with this same command so you don’t lag walk and turn off a random tower out of many and have to painstakingly check each one to see which one you accidentally turned off.
You can still action them as normal to check arrow count and recent targets, just not be able to turn it on or off unless in /build mode.
