    Salt would be used to preserve food longer and give slight hunger bonus.

    To get salt you would need to get a bucket and find a pool of salt water and boil just the water. Bam you got salt.

    Oh I think there is enough salt in the game. Do you read global chat after someone is killed in pvp?
