Now, there’s been a bit of a problem with my current server I play in, that some people decide to kill dogs, and, since they can do so at anytime, it just seems a bit unfair.
Now, what I propose is to give infamy, everytime you hit a dog, around 5-10 infamy seconds per hit, and 100 infamy seconds after killing the dog.
This way, people would be less inclined to kill other people’s pets without any problem of doing so.
This is all I may muster for this Topic, So I shall say you all, another time.

June 19, 2018 at 8:07 am #8421No way.
infamy yes, but
1 hour for every hit
and
1 day for a kill.
-100 for wrong calculation.
+50 for correct general drift.June 19, 2018 at 8:12 am #8422Sorry, I’m not really great with dealing with the times with infamy. Never tested infamy proc times with each hit or kill.
June 19, 2018 at 8:15 am #8424what would a minute do?
what does a minute change for someone who is online all the time?
a griefer does not care for stuff that does not really touch parts of gameplay relevant to them and a minute is quickly gone. someone who just wants to see a person wince… a minute for them is easily paid.
that is not enough.June 19, 2018 at 8:22 am #8426Very true, Okapi, Very true, they do not really care if it was only for a minute, as such an update with it would be almost for entirely nothing, seeing as the griefer can just escape, hide for a few moments, and then, they go off clean. Thank you for correcting my mistakes.
June 19, 2018 at 9:37 am #8434Thank you for the suggestion as such, even if it would just have spent valuable dev coding time if implemented with the time suggested.
Killing dogs needs to give infamy and enough of it for the implementation to be of any relevance and value – to show results in the gameplay behaviour of the players.
June 19, 2018 at 9:46 am #8437okapi,the answer to all your problems is “muh aboose from high lvl pkers” but this would actually fix low lvl alts abuse, used to kill your dog and the only thing u would be able to do is look at the lvl 5 killing it, otherwise u would get 1 hour of infamy for protecting your own dog
June 19, 2018 at 12:57 pm #8453Nico again. Slowly so even you have a chance to understand this.
There is no reason to harass people, get offensive or start bullying them just because they prefer the PVE aspects of this game while you prefer the pvp part. Can you try to understand that?
Then understand further that phrasings like “all your problems” is bullying as such. Refrain from this please in future when posting posts addressed to me.

Now back to the dog giving infamy.
a) for low level alts… I think the issue in general is combined with the fact that dogs were unnecessarily nerfed a while ago. trained dogs can however still kill a low level alt… but an untrained one, relatively fresh from taming or belonging to a player who is about to start training… those sure can be killed by low level alts. yes, in such cases defending the dog would get a pvp player infamy. that really should not be the case. that is… if such cases happen then facepalm, man, that dog labeling thing really could have been solved long ago. not like the dev had no chances to realise that many people love this feature, this exact part of the gameplay for a reason. it is charming and has features that you do not find in any of the most known games petsystems.b) higher level alts who would be able to kill a trained dog… those even more need to get high amounts of infamy for hitting and killing.
and in general a dog on a pve map should not be able to be hit or killed as such.
many players turn to dogs of the owners if they cannot touch the owner.
there are many griefing cases involving killed dogs on USE2.
this needs solving.
June 19, 2018 at 2:11 pm #8463Tbh 1hour/day is not enough.
You have to calculate the emotional damage the owner will suffer. He spent (maybe) a whole hour training his cute dog to max level, and then some random high level PK DEVOTED NOOB GRIEFING HEARTLESS player comes and kill it.
What does 1day of infamy achieve? NOTHING!
The culprit should have INFINITE infamy until his level drops to <5.

well petros for one, dogs are usually not trained in one hour.
usually, it is more like dog is tamed, brought home, one of the random bored-with-life-pkers kills it then player goes again. repeat until luck. then training starts then again random pker. then again repeat until eventually player has luck enough and pk’er(s) was or were temporarily distacted and then doggo finally can be trained a bit.
*slowclap*
nice showoff but… maybe talk with a doggo owner for a change.
June 19, 2018 at 3:07 pm #8481Delete the dog killers. That is the only way.
June 19, 2018 at 3:49 pm #8497I feel unloved, nobody ever kills my dogs cept polar bears and chaoses 🙁 and I didn’t even spend an hour (or maybe 3, tbh I have no idea cuz they just die anyway) training them.
Your server sounds awful.
June 19, 2018 at 11:02 pm #8514Paisley stop posing dude.
You belong to the PvP and Pk players faction.a) I have therefore issues believing that you really have dogs and care about this feature of the game since it is PvE
b) if what you say is true, that you had your dogs not yet killed on your server, then freely consider yourself a lucky guy.
I will try to contact people today who had their dogs killed on the USE2 server at least (I know this is not the only server where it happens cause Wellington is implemented in all servers and killing dogs is one of the last griefing methods they have now – so ours won’t be the only one) however for this our server at least I try to get hold of the people affected by this and ask them to post in the forum.

silently reminding those guys that might read this and need reminding that I am not on discord and do not plan to do so. my twitter and wordpress are time consuming enough, so thank you very much. I stick to this official forum here.
June 19, 2018 at 11:23 pm #8519Please answer to me this, what do you think the dev thinks when he reads your posts?
